Our Programs
Casa Josefina
High in Peru’s Andes, Casa Josefina provides loving care for infants and toddlers (birth–5) who have been abandoned or abused. The dedicated staff wraps them in compassionate care, meeting their developmental needs and helping them heal. The home’s hope is to see each child thrive in a permanent family—whether through reunification, foster care, or adoption into stable, nurturing homes where they can flourish.
Minne Marte School
Minne Marte School serves 150 children in a high-risk community of Arequipa, providing preschool and elementary education rooted in Christian values. Through academics, character formation, leadership development, and family support, students are nurtured to grow academically, socially, and spiritually—equipped to become confident learners and positive influences in their communities.
Why It Matters
Can’t Reach School
One-third of the population lives in hard-to-reach regions, where children struggle to obtain basic documentation and access to education. While school is technically free, language barriers create invisible walls—many indigenous children attend classes taught only in Spanish, not their native Quechua or Aymara.
Peruvians Go Hungry
Families living below the poverty line—which includes 39% of all children—must choose between food and other basic needs.
Children lost a parent to COVID
One in every 100 children lost at least one parent during the pandemic, creating thousands of newly vulnerable children virtually overnight. These orphaned and semi-orphaned children join the ranks of Peru’s most at-risk youth—those living in remote areas where poverty rates climb higher and support systems remain scarce.
Don’t finish School
During the teenage years—enrollment plummets to just 39.3%, as poverty, distance, and the need to work force students to choose between education and survival.
Our Transformational Approach
In Peru, our local staff and ministry partners invest in a growing number of programs that walk alongside children, young adults, and families, focusing on education, physical wellbeing, social-emotional growth, and spiritual support. Our team meets children of all ages where they are—in their communities, honoring their stories, building hope for their futures.
EDUCATION
Learning goes beyond the classroom. Our local educators and mentors walk alongside children-building knowledge, life skills, and hope in the places they call home.
PHYSICAL WELLBEING
Meeting essential physical needs removes barriers to learning, and allows children to focus, grow, and succeed in school and life.
SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL GROWTH
Through supportive relationships, education, and professional support, children experience safety, find healing, and build resilience.
SPIRITUAL SUPPORT
Grounded in compassion, children are invited to know and experience the unconditional love of God.
